WEEK 2 - Weather

Our subject this week will be the Weather

Here is a list of activities for this week yma;

1. Learn about clouds from this picture (Source)


IDEAS          - Create a Key
                     - Create a Database on J2e on Hwb, choose J2data --> Database (or use 
                                                                               Microsoft Access or Excel/ Numbers)
                     - Keep a cloud diary

2. Make a Tornado in a Jar

3. Make a Weather Map (link warning- don't click on any external links on this page)  --> record yourself making a weather forecast

4.English - On the 7th of April it's William Wordsworth's birthday. He wrote I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
     
IDEAS       - Write a list of similies about the weather  
                  - Write your own "cloud" poem 

5. Experiment! - Make your own rain gauge and note the rainfall each day for a week.
                          - Show your results in the form of a bar graph 

6. Poster -  Research and make a poster about the importance of sun safety 

7. Timeline- Timeline about the history of flight. Important dates, interesting facts and illustrations. (Task for Year 4 on J2e, due 3/4/2020) 


8. Independent learning - Learn about the Water Cycle ( y Gylchred Dwr (Welsh) ) 

9. Picture - Make a picture of a rainbow to put in your window!

10. Make your own rainbow and learn how light bends 

11. Wellbeing - Take the time to lie on the floor (safely) and look at the clouds 

12. Write  a script or cartoon using the weather symbols as your characters. One character must be able to fly. (Task for Year 4 on J2e, due 3/4/2020) 
13. Make oa musical instrument -  "Rain Maker"

       Research - Which country/ countries use rainmakers?

14. Growth Mindset - Make a kite. Experiment with adding pieces or creating special shapes. Is there a better way of making a kite? Remember to use recycled materials.
